Custom Docks & Boat Lifts for Naples Properties

A dock needs to work with the property, the boat, and the water in front of it.

Naples properties can have access through residential canals, the Gordon River, Naples Bay, and waterways leading toward the Gulf. Water depth, shoreline conditions, vessel size, existing structures, available space, and access can all affect the dock and boat lift configuration.

WB Williamson Bros. builds custom docks, repairs existing docks, and installs boat lifts throughout Naples and Southwest Florida. Our work includes new construction, redecking, repairs, electrical and lighting, custom additions, and lift systems for different types of watercraft.

BUILT AROUND NAPLES WATERWAYS

Dock Construction Built Around Your Boat and Site

The layout of a dock depends on much more than the available shoreline.

Water depth, piling placement, dock width, lift location, vessel dimensions, access, and the condition of an existing seawall can all affect the design. A property along a residential canal may present very different conditions from one connected to Naples Bay.

Naples also has detailed marine regulations governing where and how docks, piers and boat lifts can be installed. The city’s regulations address setbacks, dock dimensions, vessel and lift placement, and environmental review.

That means the right dock starts with understanding the property and the waterway rather than selecting a standard configuration.

FROM CONSULTATION TO FINAL INSTALLATION

Our Naples Dock & Boat Lift Process

We use a site-specific process from the initial consultation through final inspection. Each stage builds on the information gathered during the previous step.

Property Consultation

We review the property, existing structures, boat, available water, access, dock needs and desired features.

After the site review, we develop a plan around the property and review the layout and estimate with you.
The scope, specifications, materials, decking, lift and other project details are finalized before permitting.

The City of Naples requires a marine permit for docks and boat lifts. Current city requirements call for site information identifying the subject shoreline, neighboring shorelines and piers, required setbacks and waterway width. The city also requires a final survey before final approval of new piers and docks. Commercial and multifamily marine projects have additional engineering requirements, and contractors working on or above navigable waters must provide proof of longshore insurance.

Once the required approvals are in place, crews mobilize to the property and complete the approved dock and lift work.

The completed installation is reviewed and required inspections are addressed before final turnover.

MATCH THE LIFT TO THE VESSEL

Choosing the Right Boat Lift for Your Naples Property

A boat lift is part of the dock system, not an accessory added afterward.

The vessel’s weight, dimensions and hull configuration determine the lift requirements. Water depth, piling placement, dock configuration and available maneuvering room also affect where the lift can be positioned.

Naples regulations also place restrictions on lift placement. The city’s code addresses where boat lifts can be located in relation to piers and sets limits based on waterway dimensions and other site conditions.

WB Williamson Bros. partners with IMM Quality Boat Lifts for personal watercraft lifts, boat elevators and larger vessel lift systems.

Personal Watercraft

Smaller lifts can be planned for jet skis and other personal watercraft where space and water access allow.

Boat Elevators

Boat elevators can accommodate larger vessels while being integrated into the dock layout.

Larger Vessel Lifts

Larger boats require closer attention to lift capacity, beam, draft, water depth, clearance and dock structure.
QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BUILD

Naples Dock & Boat Lift FAQs

Does Naples Bay present different dock conditions than an interior canal?
It can. Water depth, vessel activity, shoreline conditions, access, exposure and local regulations can vary between properties.

Dock length depends on the shoreline, water depth, intended vessel, desired slip location, available space and the conditions at the property.

Sometimes. The condition of the pilings, framing, decking, connections and other structural components needs to be evaluated.

Potentially. The existing structure, vessel specifications, available water, proposed lift location and structural requirements all need to be evaluated.

Yes, where applicable to the project. Electrical service, lighting, fish lights and other features can be incorporated into the construction plan.

The City of Naples requires marine permits for docks and boat lifts and requires project-specific site information and documentation.
